This is one of the days that the road was dry. It had rained for days and we couldn’t leave the house. The roads would get so muddy, no one could walk. When we did walk, you would slip and fall… or have so much mud caked on your shoes you could hardly walk. It makes it virtually impossible to access basic services from the village in the rainy season. If there was any kind of emergency, I have no idea how people would be able to make it to town. In fact, it was so hard, Selina’s family had bought stocks of pills (her father used to be a pharmacist) which people would come by to buy one or two pills in an emergency.
